I suppose you could look at it that way. At times it can be tedious. Sometimes it is amusing though. Other times people over share. I noticed in recent days you have taken to laughing at people's comments, telling embarrassing stories about them or mocking them, so you seem to have found a reason to enjoy status updates.

Twitter is interesting in its own way. I do not do much Tweeting of my own, but I do follow people I find interesting, such as comedians, writers, etc.

I have come to loathe the "status updates" feature on facebook, wherein you discover that the majority of people you are internet friends with (mostly hagged-out thirty year-olds you went to high school with more than ten years ago, whose lives seem to elicit in you, strangely, doing violent and very self destructive things), have only to share the most boring observations--which then prompts in their friends massive jublilation and ongoing commentary. All of which makes me realize I have to quit Facebook immediately.

I have not gotten wrapped up in the twit, though, so I don't know. Mainly, i'm pretty much sure it exists for people whose lives have way more prominence than my own to sell things.
