Nascar Camping World Truck Series to Race RVs Next Year
Nascar CEO Brian France announced today that the Nascar Camping World Truck Series will race RVs next year.
“Camping World has really stepped up its sponsorship efforts in a time when it is difficult to find sponsorships they have agreed to continue to be the sponsor of the Truck Series and will also become the official recreational vehicle of Nascar. Of course the truck series will be renamed the Camping World RV Series effective 2010. Camping World makes RVs not trucks so it made all the sense in the world to race RVs instead of trucks. Our fans who have come to enjoy the excitement of the truck series will not be disappointed as RV racing is even more exciting. Anyone who has watched those bus races on Speed would agree. I do not understand why some of the drivers have complained about this. They need to stop complaining and realize they have it pretty good. For those who say this move was done because we caved into sponsors let me assure you that is not true. Sprint asked us to institute a rule where drivers could only communicate with their crew chiefs via text message, but we decided not to go through with that for safety reasons.”
When questioned about the change most of the drivers were publicly supportive, but expressed reservations privately.
Kyle Busch stated that he would drive whatever they gave him and that the RVs probably drove better than those piece of crap Sprint Cup Cars anyway.

Tony Stewart who does not drive in the truck series said it would be nice to be able to use the bathroom during cautions. He assured us that he already does so now, but it would be nice if his car had a bathroom like the RVs do. He said as long as they do not use Goodyear tires he thinks they will be okay. They cannot make tires that last on our Sprint Cup Cars so I know they cannot make tires for an RV.
We asked many people to explain how Kyle Busch was able to land the girl pictured above Samantha Sarcinella as his girlfriend, but no one gave an explanation that made any sense. Most of the comments about the subject were unprintable. I cannot explain it either, but it makes me wish I drove racecars for a living. Heck I would even be willing to drive RVs if that is what it took.
Full disclosure: This post was obviously done with tongue planted firmly in cheek. The part about Kyle stating they probably drive better than the Sprint Cup cars was a reference to when he won the first COT race and complained about how bad they drove. The joke about Tony and the bathroom was a reference to a commercial he did discussing the topic of going to the bathroom during a race. Everyone knows about his disdain for Goodyear so it seemed fitting for him to take a shot at Goodyear. The joke about Kyle and how no one could understand how he landed that girl was maybe a little mean, but she is real attractive and although he is a great driver not many people would say he is a looker.
