Sirius XM to Become DirecTV Sirius XM?
I wrote a post on my old blog about a proposed merger between Sirius XM and Lee Jeans. It was of course a gag post, but this post is not a joke and it is not a merger. There were talks the other day about Sirius XM possibly entering into bankruptcy proceedings. Also the CEO of Echostar, the owners of Dish Network bought up a bunch of Sirius’s debt in what was obviously a first step at acquiring Sirius XM.
Now there are rumors that Liberty Media, the majority share holder of DirecTV, are in talks with Sirius XM about acquiring them. It would be nice if someone acquired them so there would be some hope for the shareholders, but at this point I have lost all hope in their current management. I’m not sure what they are going to do, but as a shareholder of Sirius XM and a subscriber, I became worried when they said they were raising rates and the only way to avoid the price increase was to lock in at that rate by paying for three years up front. That seemed like a pretty desperate move and knowing how badly their stock had been doing and all the rumors about them in the press I did not sign up for three years. That may have been the only smart decision I have ever made when it came to this company.
There does not appear to be much hope for my stock portfolio, but thankfully this blog is on the cusp of making millions of dollars in the near future so I am not too worried about it. Unfortunately there is no way to buy stock in Dickness or I would put all of my money into it and hope for the best. Although you can’t sign up for stock in this site you can sign up for the rss feed and my Facebook Fan Page to help show your support in this difficult time. Yeah that does not necessarily translate directly into money, but it makes me feel better.
Full Disclosure: I did not post a picture of the Sirius XM logo for fear that they would sue me for all of Dickness’s current and future earnings, which as we discussed earlier will soon be quite a substantial sum of money.
